For our English-speaking friends - Malaysia

Malaysia is a real treat! No noise, no rubbish, no pushy shopkeepers, no hazardous driving and delicious food.

Ilona, Laurent and little Leonie make us feel very welcome. In the end we stay for nearly 10 days ...

We do a bit of sightseeing in the city of "Kuala Lumpur", walk the "Canopee walkway" at FRIM National Park and visit the very popular Indian shrine at "Batu Caves".. Elmar's comment: "It's like we had never got on that plane in Chennai ..."

Malaysia is not just Malayian, there's a lot of Chinese and Indian influence as well. And as all the different groups keep up to their traditions, life in Malaysia is colourful and diverse. Thanks to the Chinese! We love Dim Sum, a great dish!

From "Kuala Lumpur" we went North to spend a few days in the "Cameron Highlands", a plateau that offers a variety of great jungle walks. You can also visit tea plantations, strawberry and butterfly farms. We meet Len, a travel mate from the UK, on his BMW bike. Isn't it a small world?

Next is the island of "Penang". We fall in love with the city of "Georgetown" on the spot. Its relaxed atmosphere, the colonial mansions and houses, little China and little India, our evening stroll along the quay and all the friendly people we meet, make it a very special time.

Thanks to Joseph and Paul from 'The Old Penang' and Bak Kau from the BMW dealership!
